socialite • fate witch • masked malefactor

An Ul'dahn socialite with a reputation for enjoying decadent parties and all the fine, expensive things life has to offer. Sharhaz'a—or Rashk, as he's known when he rubs elbows with the upper class—dresses impeccably and is often seen hanging onto the arm of someone rich and influential when he isn't tempting potential patrons with promises of showing what the Spinner might hold in store for them. But all is not as it seems—the exquisite mask of glitz and glamour has been carefully crafted from lies to hide a midnight cloak and star-kissed daggers ...

Sharhaz'a

MISCHIEVOUS | PASSIONATE | SCHEMING

marked by lightning
Standing out in stark contrast against deep grey skin, Sharhaz'a has a white lightning scar that runs across the left side of his face, extending up from its centre mass near his heart. His eye was blinded by whatever caused the gruesome injury, pupil milky and the iris a pale, striking pearl.
treasured tresses
Sharhaz'a has a long mane of wavy hair and often wears it drawn up onto a bob that cascades a curtain of jet black down his back. His tail fur is thick and long, made distinctive by a constellation of white amidst a sea of ebony.
figure and form
Androgynous and light on his feet, the width of Sharhaz'a's shoulders is more masculine while his slim waist and shapely backside appear more feminine, the curving lines in juxtaposition with his lean muscle.
birthright
Sharhaz'a's delicate features are dotted with freckles across an aquiline nose and high cheekbones. He has a black upside down teardrop on his forehead but no other tribal markings.
dresscode
Meticulous when it comes to personal grooming and choice of attire, Sharhaz'a is often seen dressed in black and gold, appearing fashionable and wealthy at first glance. Closer inspection might reveal the adjustments it took to fit someone else's bespoke pieces onto his short frame ...

Charlatan

theatrical | eccentric | rebellious

alter or ego
Male, female, or other, it's difficult to pin down Charlatan's gender but they are definitely a Miqo'te. Favouring black and white patterns for their clothes with a touch of purple, this jester-like creature is a petty, independent player in the grand scheme of criminal affairs, seen flitting about dark alleys and dive bars, occasionally playing a mean hand of cards but never getting involved in anything too serious.
short cut
Charlatan wears their black-and-white ombré hair short, small parts of it braided and decorated with bone white beads carved into small skulls. Their tail has long, thick fur, ashen at the roots and white at the ends.
layers upon layers
Charlatan has gone to great lengths to hide their identity, wearing a full face mask carved with a spell that turns their speech into two metallic, overlaid voices, one masculine and the other feminine. Their clothes are heavily warded, hiding their aether signature underneath, and they have made sure to cover every ilm of their skin, be it with clothes or paint ...
evidence
... But one can't perfectly hide every detail—Charlatan's tail has a habit of shedding white chalk on contact, suggesting they are hiding a different fur colour underneath. They occasionally float knives in the air near them, a whisper of celestial aether running through the metal. And finally—they may be able to alter their height with carefully chosen boots but nothing can hide the curve of that derrière.

desert's eleven
Sharhaz'a fancies himself quite the criminal mastermind, planning heists and petty larcenies when he gets bored. He might be interested in working with the sort of law-breaking citizens who don’t mind property damage and a little redistribution of assets.
petty justice
Those who step on the underdog draw Shar's attention. He considers Ul'dah's long arm of the law to be a greedy, corrupt Monetarist’s paw and won’t trust the Blades to handle injustices. He will ally himself with those who seek to right some wrongs—even when it puts him on the wrong side of the law.
sea swallows all
Most from Shar's past would struggle to recognise him now and he pretends his history wasn't written in blood and brine. But the things one puts in a watery grave have a habit of floating to the surface, and he left behind both friends and enemies ...
starblood
Orphaned at a young age and adopted by a Hyur, Shar doesn't know anything of his star-shrouded legacy. Perhaps those with Shroud connections might have heard of his tribe …

half-blind seer
Wed to the stars and whispering his private prayers to a nameless god, Shar is blessed—or cursed—with the ability to see the past, present, and future. Sometimes he seeks the visions himself, sometimes they ambush him from the blind side without his say.
lucky miqo'te's paw
Call it fate or chance, Shar is able to manipulate the odds and stack the proverbial deck in favour of him and his allies, while those who cross this black cat might suddenly find themselves mired in misfortunes ...
soothsayer socialite stargazer spy
Curious to an unhealthy degree and a compulsive meddler, Shar can't keep his nose out of other people's business. He excels at reading people, digging for dirt, stealing information, and identifying easy marks.
gold digger
Hiding under the socialite alias 'Rashk Geilt', Sharhaz'a can swing a party invite to upper class Ul'dahn events ranging from charity fundraisers and elegant balls to private séances and eccentric bacchanals. He's also happy to accompany others as arm candy.
pros and cons
Sharhaz'a disguises himself with glitz and glamour for the high street but he knows his way around dark alleys. He specialises in the long con with a side of confidence games, B&E, and sleight of hand.

IN-GAME NAMES
Sharhaz'a Vedna
The Charlatan

While I use he/him pronouns for Sharhaz'a most of the time (and he uses them of himself), he behaves in a very genderfluid manner and I consider him non-binary. One of his criminal alter egos (Charlatan) is referred to with 'they/them' pronouns in narrative but they don't care what other characters refer to them as.Shar's default accent sounds like Received Pronunciation British English. I'm using it to mark an upper class Ul'dahn accent. Occasionally his accent bleeds into an intonation lilt that sounds like Ulster English (Northern Irish English), which I use to stand in for a La Noscean/Lominsan accent/dialect.Charlatan's default accent and dialect is like a Londoner's—which is to say, a bit of a mix of dialects and more on the colloquial side than Shar's.

[PLAYER INFO]

I'm Ridley and I'm nonbinary; they/them pronouns please!I will not RP with anyone under the age of 18 or anyone who uses fetish slurs to describe their characters (f*ta etc). Trans characters are very welcome!I only do scheduled RP and am looking for players who are able to respect my time and let me know if they can’t make it so we can re-schedule!I prefer in-game RP, you’ll have my full attention then. I am always willing to pause a scene and continue in another session. In some rare cases I might negotiate a continuation over discord, but expect slow responses.I'm a para RPer. I try to adjust my style to match my partner(s), but very fast-paced one-liner RP isn't my preferred cup of tea. My emotes are usually between one and three posts long and it takes me a moment to post; please be patient!I will communicate with you OOC if the content might turn sensitive in nature. Please return the favour; I am happy to play out various scenes given a proper heads up! If anything comes up in RP that makes you uncomfortable, please don't hesitate to let me know, I will adjust/retcon my posts for you!
